I guess to be more accurate, it should be titled "Snippy Love", but we've got a theme going here. And to be fair, there's more than just scissors involved.
Roadside Projects is the collective name of the art of Jayme McGowan, who is best known for her 3D cut paper illustrations. I'm very high on papercut art right now, and Jayme's work is at the top of my drool list. Her color palette is straight up my proverbial alley, as is her subject matter, which often includes fantastical happenings, like exploding mailboxes of letters, ladders leading up to the clouds, and whales and ships in the bathtub. One of the other captivating elements is how she captures the 3D feel by photographing each piece, allowing the shadows to come through and make even a two-dimensional print feel like it's projecting up all into your face.

I ran across this artist a few years ago on Etsy I think through http://shewalkssoftly.com (one of my favorite blogs to follow) and LOVED it! Fun to see someone else appreciating her touching delicate work.
Jayme’s also based here in Sacramento. If you go to the News & Review site, you can see the cover she did for the Best of Sacramento issue that just came out a couple weeks ago. It’s pretty awesome. She created some inside art, as well.
